Abstract In 1980, at the invitation of Australia, first Chinese scientists went to Antarctica. China was therefore a relative ‘latecomer’ engage in Antarctic science. period since its expedition 1984, China's presence Antarctica has expanded both terms logistics and infrastructure scientific research. This paper outlines development national programmes under influence corresponding policies from late 1970s present, noting application various disciplines fields.
